Chernobyl 20 Years Later



IN THE WAKE OF IRANIAN NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION, revisiting the 1986 Chernobyl accident exemplies the disasters that can happen with even peaceful nuclear technology. Two decades later, the surrounding area still suffers from irreversible radioactive damage.

Here's an interesting online journal by a Russian woman motorbiking through the radioactive area known as the "dead zone." The daughter of a Russian scientist, she tells Chernobyl's story with a geiger counter and a camera.
