Chernobyl 20 Years Later

IN THE WAKE OF IRANIAN NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION, revisiting the 1986 Chernobyl accident exemplies the disasters that can happen with even peaceful nuclear technology. Two decades later, the surrounding area still suffers from irreversible radioactive damage.

Here's an interesting online journal by a Russian woman motorbiking through the radioactive area known as the "dead zone." The daughter of a Russian scientist, she tells Chernobyl's story with a geiger counter and a camera.

Rove Testifies for a Fifth Time

LAWRENCE O'DONNELL writes in The Huffington Post that whether Karl Rove will be indicted depends on who asked for further testimony. If Fitzgerald asked Rove to testify, it could mean he doesn't have enough information for an indictment. If the reverse is true, Rove may be anticipating an indictment and would want to do damage control. O'Donnell reports that in journalist circles, the buzz is that it was Rove who asked.

I don't know about you, but when someone testifies before a grand jury five times, something is incredibly fishy. Fitzgerald has either got something on him or is inches away from getting something on him.
